Through my Lens
I see you more clearly. I can see the lines on your face, the wire-mesh structure that forms your shining skin, I see your eyes, the wrinkles sounding your eyes like jealous wife protecting her husband, I see your insecurity through your eyes, see your pain, feel your fear, I can almost touch your sense of pride, I smell your sense of freedom. You looking at me and honestly I can see through you. Is it me or you just transparent?
I have visualised you in all scenarios in life, I have seen you at that very moment when you very vulnerable, the stench of fear is all over. I have seen your thoughts expand, manifest. I have seen you attract what you think.
In the midst of your pretence I see your true intentions, I can hear your thoughts and understand your hesitation, weigh the options on your behalf.
You deny me your presences when I sermon you, you rebuke my ways and confront my judgement.
Need I remind you, “before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.., Least you forget.” [Jeremiah 1:5]
Your feeble self, you drink to drown in your own sorrows, indulge in practices that I have forbidden you and entertain ways that are not in our culture. You talk filth in the presence of your elders and children, display your wicked ways to the world expecting embrace! Oh poor self!
I am busy fighting for your will to live freely, free from judgement, from condemnation, from poverty, from unjust ways of the wicked ones and yet you stumble down on me. You belittle my authority.
I see your suffering, your burden heavier than your body can carry. I see your hopes, the attitude you have towards life. I see it all.
“Come to me yee who are heavy larded, and I will put you to rest for I have bared the burden for you on the cross.”[Mat 11;28]
I can draw the path to which you blood flows from directions to direction, I actually estimate your BMI from where am standing. You come to me in the middle of the night expecting me to give you my undivided attention you say yet mock me in light.
I see your bloodshot eye and am not sure whether to feel; pity for those who look up to you or be satisfied that just may be the is a little glimpse of good morals in you they will follow.
Dear self what do you what? I wonder to myself! You want to be happy yet preach sadness, live yet you proclaim death, what do you what?
I see in you what they all failed to see. Their ignorance is defining. They judge against my will. They Preach water while they drink wine. But hey! Who can we blame? Have you not exposed your vulnerability so much? Have you not exposed your inner most self to the world? Have you not sinned with your own words? So let’s forgive them when the crucify you with your own actions, let’s put you in their shoes and see..
Self! Look at me..when am talking to you..!
Yes I have condemned your ways, broken you, exposed you ,but am here to make you whole again. Am here to build you.No weapon formed against you in the Lord’s name shall prosper. I proclaim that this is where you story begins, this is where you testify of His greatness, In you I see so much of myself “for I formed you in my own image.” [Genesis 1:27] and as iron sharpens Iron so shall I sharpen you [Proverbs 27:17] , for there’s no given day that Joy and depression will resident in one place.
Therefore self, I want to be that person who wakes up with a purpose and intent to do good, be just to mankind, listen to the wise and pay no attention to foolishness. That person who shows up and never gives up. That person who believes anything is possible and willing to work for it.Unto Caesar shall you give to him what belongs to him. You shall turn the other chick and to the hungry shall you feed them. Be that person who makes a difference.
Self! you can do all great things through Christ who strengthens you.[Philippians 4:13]
I see something in you… but i don’t know what it is 🙂
